Waiting for the speaker April 2014Our members share a love of gardens and plants encompassing all levels of knowledge and expertise. Meetings are always well attended, with up to 90 people being a regular feature; we think this is not just down to the variety of topics and interesting speakers, but also the friendly atmosphere and possibly the home made cakes.

We have an enthusiastic committee who help to ensure things are well organised and that we offer a variety of activities for our members; anyone coming to a meeting for the first time is made to feel welcome and looked after and often people come with existing members, on their recommendation.

Membership numbers have grown over the last 10 years and the Society has flourished. We are always trying to improve what we do and offer different things for our members and the full range of activities and meeting topics are available on this site. Our monthly meetings and the annual show (which gets better every year) were originally our only events  but now we meet for day trips, holidays and have a twice yearly newsletter. The AGM is always well attended. It shows members what the committee do to provide a lively, interesting society and allows members to offer ideas on the future of  our society.

We also support The Barlow where we hold the meetings, usually on 3rd Wednesday of each month, as part of our involvement in the village. Although many of our members don’t live in Edgworth, we feel part of this community and support local initiatives.

If you just want to come to our monthly meetings, enjoy the talk and cakes and then go home, that’s fine: if you want to become more involved, great! Come and join us

You can join the Society at any of the meetings, or by completing the on-line membership form.
