Awards from the Geoffrey Nuttall Legacy
Edgworth and District Horticultural Society received a Legacy which will be used to benefit horticulture in the district defined by a map in our constitution (copied below). Projects must benefit the Society and its members or a substantial part of the Community.
The Society wishes to assist financially with good proposals for such projects and may from time-to-time advertise an opportunity to apply for grants.
Applications, when invited, must comply with the following criteria:
- A fully detailed description of the proposed project
- Explain the benefits it will provide
- The location (address / postcode) of the project site. If the project is in a small part of the site, identify its position
- A complete breakdown of the associated costs
- A timescale for the completion of the project identifying the funding required
- The grant will not be available for commercial activities or to cover maintenance.
- Applications
must be received by the advertised closing date
Frequency of received applications
- Applications can be made in two consecutive years by the same people/group/organisation.
- Subsequently, priority will be given to requests from those who have not applied previously.
The grant offer and its payment
- Successful applicants will be notified within one month of the closing date
- All works to be completed within the time contained in any grant offer that may be made.
- On completion, receipts for all expenses will be required together with bank account details
- The Award will normally be paid to the applicant on completion of the work though phased payments may be arranged.
- The
Committee’s decision will be final.
